“Painful history: saying unspeakable in museums”

Within the frames of “Museum night” program which is held under the motto “Painful history: saying unspeakable in museums” this year, an event called “Stories in letters” was held at Yerevan History Museum on May 20. During the event letters of the eminent figures of the 20th century sent from the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War and from imprisonment areas in later years were read out.

The visitors of the museum also had the opportunity to read, tell or write their own stories.

On the same day the museum hosted the RA People’s Artist, Honorary Citizen of Yerevan, eminent Armenian composer Tigran Mansuryan who told the story of his family which survived in the massacre of Armenians in West Armenia at the beginning of the 20th century.
