Special gift of Japanese art figure to Yerevan on the 2800th anniversary of foundation

By the initiative of Yerevan Municipality tourism division, on the event of the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation the well-known Japanese art figure, professor Kunito Nagaoka made a copy of the Urartian cuneiform record considered to be Yerevan “passport” kept in the historical-archaeological reserve-museum “Erebuni”. The artist made the copy of the record using the traditional Chinese technique Taku-Hon. He also made a copy of the famous Khachkar (cross stone) kept in Yerevan History Museum. It should be noted that nowadays this technique is mainly mastered by Japanese. Thin strong paper made of natural fabric and corresponding ink were used to make the copy. In Yerevan the artist used Japan sort of paper called “tango”. Any handmade copy is considered to be an original and has the signature of the artist.

Presentation of new canvas by artist Christina Oganezova is held in Yerevan History Museum

The presentation of the new painting dedicated by artist Christina Oganezova to the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation has been held in Yerevan History Museum. The head of Yerevan Municipality Department of Culture Ruben Hovhannisyan, the director of Yerevan History Museum Armine Sargsyan, artists, guests were present at the event.

Exhibition dedicated to 2800th foundation anniversary of the capital is open in Yerevan History Museum

The ceremony of opening of the personal exhibition of the paintings by Christina Oganezova dedicated to the 2800th anniversary of foundation of the capital has been held in Yerevan History Museum. Yerevan Mayor’s Assistant Maria Baraghamyan, the head of Culture Department Ruben Hovhannisyan, the head of tourism division Gevorg Orbelyan, the director Yerevan History Museum Armine Sargsyan, art figures and gusts were present at the event.

Academician Yuri Oganesyan is the guests of the museum

On July 14 Yerevan History Museum hosted the physicist, Doctor Professor of Physics and Mathematic, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Russia Yuri Oganesyan.

The eminent scientist toured about the museum,familiarized himself with the exhibits and left an entry in the visitors book of the museum.

The photo exhibition “Yerevan-the capital of three republics” organized on the event of the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation is going on it tour round the Armenian communities of different countries worldwide, around districts of Armenia and Artsakh. The current place of the exhibition is the town of Ashtarak, Aragatsotn marz.

Donation to the museum

A few days ago Yerevan History Museum got a donation consisted of 135 photographic negatives and photos. These items from Grigory Aghajanyan’s personal archive (born in 1933, Georgia) were donated to the museum by Vahe Sahakyan from Yerevan.
G. Aghajanyan, engineer by profession lived in Yerevan for many years and worked at Mergelyan Institute. Besides he was engaged in photography.

“Yerevan summer 2018”: painting of “Yerevan 2800” canvas in square after M. Saryan

Within the frames of the program of three-month events “Yerevan summer 2018” carried out by Yerevan Municipality the painting called “Yerevan 2800” was created by skilled painters during traditional “Yerevan painting” event organized in the square after M.Saryan. This event has been held for the 5th year running. According to the authors, the painting dedicated to the 2800th anniversary of the capital involves the elements of the previous four paintings and a number of sights of Yerevan in art solutions.

At Museums Night the exhibition halls of Yerevan History Museum were crowded

On May 19 the Museums Night event was held in Armenia and Artsakh for the 15th time.

That day, from 6 pm till midnight the exhibition halls of Yerevan History Museum were crowded. The museum was traditionally open free of charge fro everyone interested in the present and past of our capital.

On the Museums night event Yerevan History Museum came up with a photo exhibition called “Yerevan-the capital of three republics”.

The symbolic carpet dedicated to the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation will be presented in Yerevan History Museum on the event of Museums Night. This information was given by the head of Yerevan Municipality tourism division Gevorg Orbelyan during the press-conference held in the media hall of ARMENPRESS.

“The museums functioning within Yerevan Municipality jurisdiction traditionally join the program of the International Museums Day and Museums Night events.

The museums come up with interesting programs. Taking into account that this year is a jubilee for Yerevan, besides traditional programs Yerevan History Museum is holding an interesting event. At Museums Night the symbolic carpet will be presented in the museum and then kept there”, said said Gevorg Orbelyan.

The International Museums Day is marked on May 18 and the Museums night” event is to be held in Armenia and Artsakh on May for already 15th time.

116 museums joined the events. In 2018, the motto of the International Museums Day which was selected by ICOM is “Hyperconnected museums: new approaches, new publics”.

On the International Museums Day and the Museums Night Yerevan History Museum presents the photo exhibition “Yerevan-the capital of three capitals”.
