Saint Petersburg Days in Yerevan: Valeri Plotnikov’s photo exhibition in Yerevan History Museum

Within the frames of Saint Petersburg days in Yerevan the photo exhibition called “The portrait of past epoch” by Saint Petersburg photographer Valeri Plotnikov opened in Yerevan History Museum. Greeting the participants of the exhibition the head of Yerevan Municipality Department of Culture and Tourism Ruben Hovhannisyan noted that this exhibition is a good opportunity for young photographers to get professional advice.

Presentation of a new program at Yerevan History Museum

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was present at the new program presentation called “Cultural heritage and sustainable tourism” dedicated to the international Day of Monuments and Sites. The event took place at Yerevan History Museum. In accordance with the authors’ idea, a number of rituals such as pre-wedding ceremony and others, characteristic for Yerevanian families of the late 19th century and the early 20th century are presented through a special excursion.

Museum samples were cleaned up during the Saturday clean-up action

During the Saturday clean-up Yerevan History Museum washed the façade windows of the museum and cleaned the exhibition halls. All the stalls were opened and the exhibited samples were carefully cleaned.

From the history of expansion of Yerevan: establishment of four villages of Dalma (1939-1940)

History of Dalma’s four former villages, which are currently part of Malatia-Sebastia, Ajapnyak and Davitashen administrative districts of Yerevan – Davitashen (First village), Anastasavan (Second village), Silikyan (Third village, then Spandaryan), Haghtanak (Fourth village) is an important part of history of the Capital.

Museum as a sphere of patriotic upbringing

One of the great Armenians Garegin Nzhdeh said, “Homeland lives with patriotism and is destroyed because of its lack”.

The concept of patriotism is in close connection with the history of its country as homeland is not only the modern period of the country but also its history, culture, its past, present as well as future.

Exhibition of photos of Syrian Armenians in Armenia opened in Yerevan History Museum

Opening ceremony of the photo exhibition called “Restart: Syrian Armenians’ success in business sphere of Armenia” and the presentation of the same name book were held in Yerevan History Museum.

The joint project of GIZ organization and the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Germany in Armenia was carried out with the support of Yerevan Municipality.
