1500 pupils of the 7-8 grades of the basic schools of Yerevan visited the Yerevan History Museum, the History Museum of Armenia, the Armenian National Art Gallery, house-museums of Yeghishe Charents and Hovhannes Tumanyan. This initiative of the Women’s council of the Republican Party of Armenia to organize excursions to the museums on the event of the International Day of Children’s Rights Defence was supported by the Municipality of Yerevan.
On May 16 the Yerevan History Museum as well as all other 109 museums of Armenia joined the European-wide cultural action “Museum Night 2015. Unlike the similar events held previously this time the events organized by the Yerevan History Museum were dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The Municipality of Yerevan and the Yerevan history Museum invite you to the events to be held on May 16 within the frames of “Museum night 2015” action. The events are dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial.
On May 16, from 11.00 till 24.00 the exhibition called “I remember and demand: Rebirth” is open within the frames of the event called “Museums: memory witnesses”. The aim of the exhibition is to present Yerevan before 1915 and afterwards in the context of creation of shelters for refugees, elimination of the consequences of the greatest disaster, the reconstruction and rebirth of Yerevan.

On April 19 the educational and cultural center of Glendale “Narek” jointly with the commission of parents organized a commemoration ceremony and the exhibition of 40 exclusive documentary photo materials brought from the Yerevan History Museum.
Prior to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide the exhibition called “I remember and demand. Rebirth” opened in the foyer of the Municipality of Yerevan. Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, the Vice President of the RA NA Hermine Naghdalyan, RA Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan, members of the Council of Elders of Yerevan, other officials, numerous guests were present at the event.

The exhibition called “ Armenia in the eyes of foreign artists” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide has opened in the exhibition hall of the Yerevan history Museum. The works by 20 artists from 6 countries were created during the open-air festival “Armenian palette”. The projects was implemented due to the support of the Municipality of Yerevan, “Pyunik” foundation and the initiative of “Lorva dzor” (“The canyon of Lori”) patriotic union.

The staff of the Yerevan History Museum headed by the director present their deep condolence to the Iskandaryan family on the untimely death of the Great Master, the RA Honorary Sculptor, painter Khachatur Iskandaryan.
By the joint initiative of the Yerevan History Museum and the Glendale cultural establishment “Narek”, on the event of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, an exhibition of the archival photos of the Yerevan History Museum called “We remember” opens in “Narek” cultural center in Glendale on April 19, 2015.
