“Memories of a Soviet Yerevan Apartment” exhibition has been opened
A new exhibition titled “Memories of a Soviet Yerevan Apartment” has opened at the Yerevan History Museum. The exhibition is dedicated to the 2807th anniversary of the founding of Yerevan and presents the life, culture and industrial heritage of Yerevan during the Soviet period.
The opening ceremony was attended by Sergey Kopirkin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia, representatives of the Yerevan Municipality staff, cultural figures, museum directors, representatives of partner organizations and numerous guests. The aim of the exhibition is to invite visitors to relive the atmosphere of Soviet Yerevan through household items, furniture, interior elements and industrial products. It is not only a nostalgic look at the past, but also an opportunity to understand how the image of Yerevan was formed and the continuity of the identity of Yerevan residents was preserved.
In his opening speech, Gevorg Orbelyan, Director of the Yerevan History Museum, noted: “With this exhibition, we want visitors to rediscover their personal memories and appreciate the cultural heritage of Yerevan during the Soviet period in a new way.”
During the event, words of gratitude were also expressed to all those who contributed to the implementation of the exhibition. Special thanks went to the Yerevan Champagne Wine Factory and the Infinity Moments company for their support and cooperation.
The exhibition is open to visitors and offers a unique journey into Yerevan’s Soviet past through memories, family warmth, and creative life.
