World Book capital 2012 were summarized with the solemn ceremony

The program of the events dedicated to Yerevan’s declaration World Book capital 2012 were summarized with the solemn ceremony taken place in the Yerevan City Hall on April 20. Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan made the last note in the book titled «Yerevan» which was  published on the occasion of  Yerevan’s declaration World Book Capital and the 500th anniversary of the Armenian book printing. The note left by the mayor said “I am proud of Yerevan”.

The book is kept in the Yerevan History Museum.

We’d like to note that the first writing in the blotter published on the event of the 500th anniversary of the Armenian book printing and the declation of Yerevan World Book capital 2012, was made by the RA President Serzh Sargsyan.

Including  the glory and mamory of the last capitals Van, Armavir, Yervandashat, Artashat, Tigranakert, Vagharshapat, Dvin, Bagaran, Shirakavan, Kars and Ani our capital Yerevan having the centuries-old history is the symbol of eternity and future of all Armenians spresd throughout the world.

So the holy duty of each of us is to keep this beating heart of our nation, making it more prosperous and beautiful day by day», wrote President Sargsyan. The events dedicated to the event were continued in the Yerevan History Museum.
