Opening of the Exhibition “Blooming Pomegranate from Noah’s Land” at the Xi’an City Museum, China

On May 18, International Museum Day was celebrated in Xi’an, China. On this occasion, the exhibition titled ”Blooming Pomegranate from Noah’s Land” was opened at the Xi’an Museum, located in the administrative center of Shaanxi Province, China. The exhibition was organized within the framework of a cooperation agreement between the Yerevan History Museum, the Armenian-Chinese Partnership Center NGO, and the Xi’an Museum of the People’s Repulic of China. The exhibition of Armenian culture in China this year began on January 30, 2024, at the Ningbo Museum, China.
At the Xi’an Museum, 94 exclusive exhibits from the collection of the Yerevan History Museum were also presented, including traditional costumes, carpets, silver jewelry, embroidery, tableware, dating from the 18th to the 20th centuries. The opening of the exhibition was attended by the leadership of the China’s Cultural Heritage Bureau, the Xi’an city administration, the director of the Xi’an Museum, the head of the city’s Cultural Heritage Bureau, the Trade Counselor of the Armenian Embassy Koryun Ghazaryan, the Deputy Director of the Yerevan History Museum Lusine Amirjanyan, the President of the ”Armenian-Chinese Partnership Center” Armen Mkhitaryan, as well as representatives of the cultural community who had arrived in Xi’an for International Museum Day, museum directors, and other guests.
Since its opening day, the exhibition has welcomed over 12,000 visitors daily.
