Talk-meeting with composer and People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia Ara Gevorgyan

On July 16, a lecture was held at the Yerevan History Museum, hosted by composer and People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia Ara Gevorgyan.
During the lecture, the artist presented his memories, as well as shared his musical impressions and stories from the cultural life of Yerevan.
The lecture took place within the framework of the closing of the “Urban Melodies: Musical Transformations of Yerevan” exhibition.

 


Ara Gevorgyan’s music always leads to the world of Armenian national tones, while combining modern forms and bright rhythms. He is known for his unique style both in symphonic works and in the field of theater and film music.
He has collaborated with a number of famous performers and orchestras, and his works have been performed on different stages around the world, presenting the Armenian musical spiritual heritage.
Museum Director G. Orbelyan thanked the maestro and awarded him with a certificate of honor for his significant contribution to the preservation and popularization of the national cultural heritage, as well as for the support provided to the museum during the organization and holding of the exhibition of national musical instruments.
