The exhibition “Doll stories” opened in the Yerevan History Museum

The exhibition “Doll stories” opened in the Yerevan History Museum on November 11. The aim of the exhibition is to present the doll as a multi-genre, multi-form phenomenon which got into nearly every sphere of our life.

It’s notable that at the exhibition one can find hand-made dolls of artistic value displayed next to the dolls of mass production during the Soviet years which have become witnesses of the exciting memories of several generations.
Hand-made dolls both from the museum collection and from private collections, puppets, Armenian ritual dolls, as well as dolls given at the disposal of the exhibition by Yerevanians are displayed at the exhibition. The dolls made by Armenian master Sophia

Arzumanova are nearly 100 years old and stand out due to their “old age”. There is also a china doll made at German manufacture “Armand Marsel” in the 1900s.

Each doll presented at “Doll stories” exhibition has its own history  which it can share with the visitors…

The exhibition is open till February 11, 2015.
