Solemn ceremony dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Yerevan History Museum and 15th anniversary of Karen Demirchyan Museum
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was present at the event dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Yerevan History Museum and to the 15th anniversary of Karen Demirchyan museum. In his greeting speech, congratulating the employees and all the devoted persons contributed significantly to the formation of two community museums, Deputy mayor of Yerevan Aram Sukiasyan stressed particular importance of these cultural objects in the issue of education and upbringing of generations.
The director of Yerevan History Museum and the director of Karen Demirchyan museum in their turn expressed gratitude for permanent assistance and noted that consistent policy of Yerevan Municipality aimed at the development of museums is highly important.
During the event short films telling about the creation and activity of the museums were shown. The presentation of the collection of scientific articles “Yerevan-4” was held as well. During the ceremony the culture specialist Avo Hovhannisyan and Armen Hamazaspyan were awarded with Yerevan Mayor’s honorary diplomas for their contribution to enrichment of Yerevan history Museum collections. On the event of the 15th anniversary of Karen Demirchyan museum foundation, for significant contribution to museum work, the director of the museum Vahagn Mamyan was awarded with Yerevan Mayor’s Gold Medal.
On the event of the 85th anniversary of Yerevan history Museum foundation, for significant contribution to museum work, Yerevan history Museum was awarded with memory medal “The Emblem of Yerevan” which will find its honorary place in the museum and will become the 96700th sample of the museum.
For significant contribution to Karen Demirchyan museum foundation Yerevan Mayor handed a symbolic gift to the president of Karen Demirchyan fund Mrs Rima Demirchyan.
